Distillery donates $17,500 for new playground equipment

Thanks to the Outer Banks Voice for the article about our 2018 Angels’ Share Rum. Proceeds from the sale of this limited edition rum raised over $17,000 for Dare County Parks and Rec to build a new playground.

“Outer Banks Distilling presented a $17,500 check to Dare County Parks and Recreation at the Aug. 6, Board of Commissioners meeting.

Adam Ball, one of the four owners of Outer Banks Distilling, contacted Dare County Parks and Recreation following the removal of one of his 4-year-old son’s favorite pieces of playground equipment at Family Recreation Park in Kill Devil Hills.

The 17-year-old piece of playground equipment had deteriorated due to the salt air and was removed for safety reasons. The distillery, which opened in 2015, offered to donate proceeds from the sale of a specialty rum to help purchase new playground equipment.”
